:confused:Hello I'm new to this board . I am in need of some help!!! Let me run down my story real quick. My symptoms started the first week of Feb 2008, I was feeling off like I was dizzy, not dizzy as in spinning but my equilibrium was off along with that I had pressure on the right side of head at the temple, felt like someone was rolling there fingers under my skin and pushing on my temple at the same time. I kinda blew it off thinking maybe it's the xanax I'm on for anxiety. I stopped taking the xanax for about 2 to 2 and half weeks to see if any change. There wasn't. So went to docs and he got me tested for many things. Here's a list
ENG-ENT DOC EAR TEST=PASSED ALL FINE
MRI BRAIN W'CONTRAST=PASSED CLEAR
MRI CERVICAL SPINE= ARTHRITIS
BLOODWORK FOR EVERYTHING =ALL GOOD
HAD ECHO ON HEART LAST SUMMER=GOOD
EEG LAST SUMMER=GOOD
EMG A MONTH AGO(NERVE TEST ON LOWER BODY) = GOOD BUT FOUND AN ABNORMALITY?
YESTERDAY HAD ANOTHER ENG WITH TOP DOC IN PHILADELPHIA
HE SAYS MY EARS ARE GREAT.

Ok so ENT top Doc says he thinks it's in my brain and that in turn my neurons are no longer connecting and that I have to reteach my body to feel normal again???? I said how the ***l does your brain just stop working and why would it do that, he said well it does. So next stop is to Vestibular therapy where they can help.? I know this post is long Sorry. I feel alone and worried no one is finding anything wrong. Could this Ent doc be right? Please help if anyone knows or has heard of this. Thank you and sorry for long post. Holly

  • Your neurons are not connecting? Do you happen to use a cell phone? Maybe you are electrosensitive like I am? You can scroll to the symptoms... http://www.ei-resource.org/illness-information/related-conditions/electrical-sensitivity-&-hypersensitivity/ Also, some doctors think that arthritis is caused by underlying infections such as chronic Lyme, bartonella, babesia, ehrlichia, etc... Were you ever tested through IGeneX? Any other symptoms? http://www.canlyme.com/ http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php You live in a very endemic area.thanks blaze but i don't think i have this. i checked the site and i'm not even close to those symptoms only the lights bother me but that is a common thing among many people and also associated with my balance problem. i got checked for lymes about 4 times in the last year. so not that either. but thank you for your reply and i don't think i have that problem. it sounds like you do and i hope all goes well for you. take care hollygirl

  • hello:DI emailed you a long story but this website timed me out right when I clicked on "send". So I have to make this short and quick so it wont happen again. I wish I can go on and on because I can.lol. Sounds like I went through almost the same thing as you. I became off-balance, I would describe it as a "out-of-it" feeling...but doctors would look at me like a was crazy:rolleyes:. Everything you listed..... ENG-ENT DOC EAR TEST=PASSED ALL FINEMRI BRAIN W'CONTRAST=PASSED CLEARMRI CERVICAL SPINE= ARTHRITISBLOODWORK FOR EVERYTHING =ALL GOODHAD ECHO ON HEART LAST SUMMER=GOODEEG LAST SUMMER=GOODEMG A MONTH AGO(NERVE TEST ON LOWER BODY) = GOOD BUT FOUND AN ABNORMALITY?YESTERDAY HAD ANOTHER ENG WITH TOP DOC IN PHILADELPHIAHE SAYS MY EARS ARE GREAT. ...except for the lower body EMG test and I dont live in Philadelphia.lol. Ok well, next you should get ALLERGY TESTED. Where they poke you down your arm for airborne allergies. Also get tested for food allergies. I found that I was HIGHLY allergic to airborne and some foods. I never had severe allergy symptoms so I never even thought it would be that. Ive been on allergy airborne drops for 1 year now. My headaches have decreased tremendously(which made my dizzyness worse). We think allergies contributed to my headaches and made my sinuses act up. Find a an ENT who specializes w/allergies. The treatment takes 1year to 1 1/2 year to start feeling results. I started feeling results within 6-8 months. But find out if you have allergies so you can rule this out if your not highly allergic. Google VESTIBULAR DISORDERS and look at the symptoms. I had all the symptoms. hope this helps  bee-Z

  • Patch allergy testing is not very accurate IMO...if you suspect food or seasonal allergies please research a treatment called NAET. www.naet.com - it is fantastic for this problem! Have you tried chiropractic or acupuncture for this problem? Chiropractic, a GOOD one, can really help with balance and ear issues. I would get copies of your blood work and really look carefully at it. I have been doing a lot of research recently on B12 deficiency and it can cause all of the symptoms you are describing, and is almost always overlooked by docs. Please just rule this out with a serum B12 test or a uMMA test. B12 deficiency can cause severe neurological problems if left untreated. If your B12 levels are under 350 I would suspect you have issues. Best wishesDOM

  • I've read about certain tapeworms that get into the brain. It would be hard to test for them or to prove it however.

  • I have a very similar story. I recently had a CT Scan of my head though and the results were very dramatic. The right side of my head is completely blocked. So now we are looking at surgery to unblock the sinuses(since I have gone through 2 rounds of antibiotics and 1 round of steroids since February). My ENT also doesn't think this is what's causing my dizziness but agrees that it will help my other problems (stabbing headaches, no pain tolerance especially in my mouth). I was on B12 supplements even though my level was above 350 for a while and they made me feel worse so I stopped after about 6 weeks.I'll try to post if how things go for me.
