Hello there. I'm 24, I'm a recent college graduate, I'm not overweight, I don't have a lot of money and I don't eat very well. I'm a vegetarian, and I take multivitamins. For about a year, I've had these chest pains on the left side. I've had some tests done, they didn't find anything abnormal (mainly tested my heart). In the past few months, I've had pretty rough headaches, which I'm not used to (prior to this, I wasn't prone to migraines). With the headaches have come dizziness, a sort of feeling distanced from reality, feeling very weak, etc. I've had an MRI and seen a neurologist, and they didn't find anything abnormal, which is good. They did find a sinus cyst, but they said it couldn't be causing these symptoms. I should also mention that my left eye has been feeling odd. Not really pained, but just a pressure behind the eye and feeling a little hard to focus. That said, the MRI didn't find anything, which is also good.

However, more recently, these symptoms are happening together. The headaches, weakness, dizziness, etc are happening with the chest pains. Also, while I don't notice it unless I'm in public, I also belch a lot, loud belches that sort of make my chest feel less pressured. Sometimes it makes the symptoms feel better, but only briefly.

I'm sort of tired of seeing a doctors for this stuff and not getting a solid answer as to what is causing these symptoms. Any ideas?

  • Given that they didn't find anything on those tests, are you anxious about anything at all? it can cause all of those symptoms, and more! I would ask your doctor about acid reflux and anxiety, that's what they think I have at the moment and the two go hand in hand fairly frequently, mostly because people with gerd can think they are having a heart attack or have some heart problem and it causes them anxiety. I only say this because you say you don't exactly have a staple diet. Good luck

I've gotten a lot of suggestions that it could be stress or anxiety, but really I've been pretty laid back lately.

Being vegetarian you have to be careful of B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 is found in meat. Here is a link to look at. It list symptoms that are mild and severe. B12 deficiency causes blood problems (anemia), and neuro problems (brain) (nerves). Do not post at this thread. Come back here, or go to the B12 thread on this website. B12 deficiency commonly misdiagnosed.B12 deficiency is caused by other things too. Acid reducers, birth control pills, lack of intrincinc factor in stomach, H-Pylori, and more. You do have some of the symptoms. You could always check it by blood test just to rule it out. Old school doctors will tell you 2 or 300 level is borderline normal. It should not be below 550. Lower than that can cause neuropsyciatric symptoms. Check the link out. http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/showthread.php?t=62327Check out all the basics and the list of symptoms. You will be amazed at how much b12 covers.
