Here are some of the things I have going on, there so many it is mighty confusing.
About a year and a half ago I started getting bad heartburn and indegestion. I found myself shying away from common foods that would cause it and lowering meat intake. I was also having diarrhea about 3 to 6 days a week, and gas, as well as having to go "#2" about 6 to 10 times a day (normal size!?!)
About 10 months ago it was so bad that I dropped meat altogether. I went to eating a vegetarian diet. The diarrhea went away, I stopped going to the bathroom more than 1-2 times a day, the heart burn diminished, but the indegestion was still common. I felt a lot better and a patch of Psoriasis that had plagued me for years went away as well.
About a month ago the heartburn got worse again, the indigestion was rampant and I just felt sick after eating. It was suggested to me that I stop eating anything with gluten in it a few weeks ago. The heartburn has diminished, and in the last couple of weeks I have only had it and indegestion when I ate something like pasta.
in the last week I have finally cleaned up and have been eating no meat and no gluten products at all, and mcuh of my troubles have disappeared, even a new patch of severe psoriasis that showed up behind my knee when the problems came back a month ago dissapeared.
My doc says they will have to run some tests, but didnt really say much, and gave me fiber packets to take every day...
Why am I getting sick from meat and bread/pasta? I do feel better now that I eat primarily nothing but vegetables and limited hard cheese (about 1 ounce per day). I have looked up everything I could find, but there is nothing aside from the possibility of having developed celiac. Nothing about meat making me sick. I have been diagnosed before with IBS (to explain away the diarrhea that plagued me for months) and Acid Reflux, as well as being told I am likely lactose intolorant and have mild anemia. Even the acid reflux meds didnt do anything but make the symptoms a bit less severe.
Ugh... anyone have an idea what could be wrong? I would like to make sure the docs run the right tests when they do it. Thanks in advance.
