My nephew is only 15 months old, has just been sick for the umteenth time since he was born, fevers of 101.6 to 104 and Thrush. The Doctor finally decided to do blood tests and they told my brother they are concerned because the white blood cells are low, the platelets are low, and the hemoglobin is elevated. They said they would like to re-test his blood in 6 weeks. What could we be looking at here???? Everyone at the hospital I have spoken to tells me we should be very concerned i.e.; Cancer, Leukemia, Autoimmune Neutropenia, or CVID, however, I read a post on this site that gave me some hope that it could just be symptoms of this most recent infection and should rebound on it's own. Please help any way you can, even if its just to tell me where to post this. Thanks, MIKEReply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
