Hello,

I recently have been experiencing lower abdominal pain that moves to the left and right of my stomach. I went to the doctor and said the intestines could be pinched or twited.

Symptoms:

Stool goes from hard to soft to small to big
No Blood in stool
Color is normal
No nausea
Somewhat fatigued

Doctor ordered a colonoscopy sometime in the near future. He gave me Avalox and suggested I take Probiotic and fiber.

I had a bout with Diverticulitis over a year ago and it was cleared up with Antibiotics. That pain was only on myleft side. This time it is all over.

Does anyone know if this sounds lik cancer or something like IBS?

I do drive 5-7 hours one way at a time and sometimes hold my bowel movement until I get to my destination.

Just curious if anyone else has these symptoms and or diagnosis.

Thanks,

  • Does anyone have or had these types of symptoms? I have been reading quite a bit and seems everything mimics each other. Any insight or help would be appreciated. Thanks,

  • Colon cancer most often involves blood in stool, so I don't think cancer is the most probable diagnosis in your case.

Thanks,You should try to use the bathroom as shortly after a strong urge as you can and if needed you can loosen up bowel movements by drinking prune juice. For colon health, fiber and water are both important (sounds like a celery stick, right?). Everyone above age 50 should get a colonoscopy every 5 years, so if that's what your doctor is doing it's just proper preventative care. It can also help detect lesser functioning sections of bowel. No need to bring in the "c word" unless the doctor did.
