In 2001 I began having weakness and tingling in my thigh's, very sore tounge, light's coming and going in my eyes, having trouble writing plus more. Went to the Dr and was diagnosed with a "very bad case of nerves". Medication's did not help. Kept going down hill. Went in to see the Dr. to ask him to tell me where I could go for more treatment or another diagnosis and he was gone on vacation. Nurse practioner was making arrangement's to enter me in the hospital the next day when I passed out in a store.

Taken to the hospital. Test's quickly showed I was "out" of B-12. This misdiagnosis has caused me to go from a working 68 year old to hardly being able to get a meal or minor housework. Under the care of some caring Doctor's I am being treated for Pernicious Anemia and Subacute Combined Degeneration of the Spinal Cord and all of the related health problems that goes with this disease.

I have found most Doctor's, Nurses, and other health care person's have not even heard of the later disease. It is most frustrating for me as the only ones to talk to is my professional care people. Have been on the NORD Web Site. Thanks.
