Hello, I've had Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome for a very long time now and nothing has helped me. My Doctor thinks Bright light Therapy is the best treatment for what I have, but it does not work for me.

I usually go to be around 5-6 am and fall asleep by 7-8 am.

This Disease is killing me, any ideas?

I hear Chronotherapy is good too, but it only lasts around 3 weeks for me until my sleep gets all messed up again.

  • Well, you could move to the other side of the world where you will be on their time...probably something to do with a past life and the habits or feelings unconscious associated with it. The light therapy is suppose to be about the only good treatment; of course there are drugs to help change your sleeping pattern, but you have the side effects. It does impact work, doesn't it. I have the same condition so when I don't work, I am up all night but use it to paint or write. Unfortunately, getting up at 6 am for work has challenges for dsps sufferers. This sleep hypnosis CD helps me some times:http://www.joshuaseth.com/store/ You could try acupuncture; it may or may not help.

  • I dont sleep well either, I have what is commonly known as "Mommy" issues but I have the other side... I'm very strong and I combine that with a lot of anger... I have anger blackouts and I almost killed 2 people beating them during a blackout... I have a issue a serious one... I converted to Budhism and visited a Phisicologist, I also tried martial arts to discipline myself, lucky me I can't use any of the thecniques while in blackout... I can control my anger with someone in my face for as long as 30 minutes but then i snap.... I dont know anymore I regret this issue and i dont want to hurt anyone...
