Over a year ago after a trip to mexico i was diagnosed with giardia and blastocystis. Since then I have taken numerous antibiotics to treat the parasites. I stopped testing positive and having symptoms of the giardia last february. The blastocystis has not been as easy to get rid of. I last tested positive in 10/08 and since then have taken 3 more rounds of heavy antibiotics. Last stool culture tested negative. I am still however having some symptoms. Medical doctors seem to think it is due to something else going on but have not been able to properly diagnose me. I had an endoscopy done that did say i have gastritis but the meds for that dont seem to help. So the symptoms that i am still having, constant bloating, stomach distention which looks like i am sometimes 6 months pregnant, indigestion, frequent and loose bowel movements, light headed, ache and pain in my pelvis and lower back, naseau, poor appetite, feeling of constant fullness, unexplained weight gain. My female cycle changed too as of feb. or march of last year. i am constantly tired, and becoming more and more depressed. Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.
