Hey I've had stomach pain for the past year, its mainly behind my lower right ribs. I have had an ultra sound because I was under the assumption that there was a problem with my gull bladder (ie gullstones) I've had the ultrasound but doctors found nothing. Ive found i can eat only certain foods ( turkey, potatoes, beans ) without getting pains. Everything else just seems to make me feel sick and in pain, i have also noticed that milk and cheese causes pain as well ( lactose intolerance) Ive been using a heat pad to dull the pains but i find myself heating it up about 6-8 times daily to relieve the pain. If anyone has had similar problems and found a solution please help me. My Doctor says there's nothing wrong but i do not want to live in this pain any longer, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I had the same symptoms for about four months - after several doctors and tests that proved nothing I found a general surgeon. Who after a very brief evaluation sent me in for an emergency appendectomy. Have you seen a surgeon? If not, I definitely would. Does it hurt to walk? Down the front of your right leg? Like when you stand up straight to walk? Tell tale signs... Good luck, buddy. I hope I've helped.

I am having the same problems. It started off only hurting when I would eat or drink something then going to just hurting randomly. I went to a regular doctor and he ran blood tests and also did an ultrasound. Of course they found nothing except that my liver enzymes were a little high but supposedly not high enough to cause problems. After different medications nothing worked so I was reffered to a GI specialist. He put me on a very bland diet and it helped some but i was still having pain every once in a while. Went took a HIDA scan to check for gallstones, but they didnt find any. I took blood tests (testing for other possibilities than the first blood test) and I didnt hear for a week and a half about the blood results. They had me scheduled for an upper GI. After doing the upper GI they didnt see anything in my stomach but the blood tests showed some virus was there. Of course I was still out of it from the sedative but my step-mom told me what the doctor said. He said it was something like mono but not mono. I had a lot of the symptoms of mono and it was in my system for 2 months but I am not contagious. He also said my liver is swollen and gave me no medications for it. He told me that if in 2 weeks the pain hasnt gone away to come back for medications. It seems like you are having the same problems. I hope this helps. Good luck.

ThanksI've been having the same things and i've been checked on ultra sound and blood work. you might want to ask about a "Hia scan" they inject a die in your blood that acts like a fatty meal. and they watch it go thru your gull bladder. and your gull bladder could be completly not functioning..and it doesn't always show up on X-rays, ultra suonds and blood work. you might also was to ask about them checking your liver enzymes and such, as well. good luck!!!
