I had to have a complete colon resection 2 years ago and came down with pouchitis. I have been fighting this condition for the last 1 1/2 years by taking 500mg of Flagyl twice a day and 500mg of Cipro twice a day and the side effects stink..... I have tendinitis in several joints from the Cipro and I have ben told to stop the Flagyl if I have any numbness & tingleing in my feet or hands. I have not been able to stop either antibiotic because my symptoms come back within several days after stopping the antibiotics. I need to find other options because I do not want to stay on the antibiotics the rest of my life and my other option is to have the suregery undone and wear a bag the rest of my life. I just want to try all options before any more surgery.
