Over the past 1 1/2 years I have had a significant weight loss. I am 5' 3", was 148 lbs now am 109 lbs. I have had chronic right sided upper abdominal pain which bores through to my back just below and to the left of the right shoulder blade. I have nausea bouts daily and frequent belching with loose stools. My energy is grestly diminished and I become easily confuse and forgetful. I have as well facial swelling and associated pain in jaw and left eye which come and goes. I have developed as well feelings of pounding heart and trembling inside my upper abdomen. I have had multiple tests. Depressed white counts and hemoglobin have recovered with herbal remedies. According to doctors I am healthy and my tests are all negative. Have you any suggestions?

  • First things first- rude to ask I know, but it's important to distinguish. How old are you?Do you smoke, how much alcohol do you drink and are you on any medication? The weight loss and swelling is worrying and needs a review in it's own right. See your GP ASAP

  • Have you had an upper abdo ultrasound yet? It sounds very much like gallstones where the pain you describe is located and it radiates through to the back. I had gallstones emerge after a significant weight loss and it was just agony with vomiting, sweating, dizziness with each attack of pain. The ultrasound might be a good place to start for the kind of symptoms you are describing. Hope that helps.

  • Have you considered food allergies? The symptoms you mention could be a lot of things so work with a doctor to rule the more serious issues out, but while you work with the doctors it also might be worth trying an anti inflammation diet, which will reduce exposure to the top eight food allergens. Nausea, weight loss, frequent belching, loose stools, diminished energy, and a racing heartbeat are all huge signs of a food allergy. Doing the diet is hard at first cuz most foods contain ingredients that are made from at least one of the top eight allergens, but it’s worth the work. Just a thought. Good luck!
