Chronic nausea and upper GI pain

Near the end of 2008 I became sick with the flu and was hospitalized for ten days. I then was so sick I had lost about 20lbs (went down to about 95lbs) and had to stay home for weeks and recoup with special care.
Since then, I have been suffering with constant nausea, upper GI pain (at times VERY extreme), dry heaving (usually I can control it), and difficulty swallowing. I have GERD and had a nissen fundoplication done in 2006. It fixed my symptoms until 2008 when I got the flu. All the tests I have had done say I am fine. I know something is wrong, and cannot figure out what it is.

If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Thank you.

Thank you. When a surgeon suggested fundoplication surgery for my GERD, my primary care physician strongly advised against it at this point. He said that, without exception, every patient of his who has ever had it done regretted it five years later. He said that sometimes it helps for a while, but seems to always develop problems. The only specific problem I recall his mentioning is that it sometimes comes loose.

You should have/ask about whats called a Hida Scan, and it checks the function of your gall bladder.
