I've had a chronic cough for 3 years with about 3 episodes of recurrent lung infections possibly due to colds. ( I have 5 children). Spirometry indicates a mild obstruction. I do not smoke, nor have I ever smoked. I am looking at seeing a specialist soon. The cough is dry, and not very persistent except when I laugh. It seems to be associated with other cold symptoms when I am feeling run down and congested in the nasal area. Often it sounds like a honk.????:o

  • my mother had the exact same problem for a couple of years and switched doctors... come to find out it was a bad combination with her blood presure/cholesterol medication and something else that was causing it. as soon as she stopped taking them the cough went away.
