My son is almost 3 years old and has chronic constipation since birth..He was born 3.5 wks early and didn't have any problems but only he wouldn't poop his 1st BM..They put some water up his butt and he finally had a BM a couple mins later..When the dr didn't seem like there was anything wrong with him.. After we got him home he wouldn't have another BM for a couple of days then it turned into a couple of weeks. When i asked his dr about she just told me to put some corn syrup in his bottles.. it worked for a month then he was back to not having BM's then we he was about 6 months she told us to try miralax and it worked for awhile to..It took me a year and half before his dr sent us to a gi dr even though i been asking about it for a year. He has all kinds of test and all of them neg.. He tries really hard to poop hes not holding it back he pushes for weeks to get just a little bit of bm out. He been in the hospital to get cleaned out and it worked and he was doing good until a a few months ago.. Now he back to his oldself not eating that much and just trying so hard to pass a BM... He is a generlax and it was working this is 3rd time hes been on it.. It works for a month or two then it stops...I dont know what eles to do or what could be the problem..The dr don't know and tell me its mental and its not mental cuz he does try so hard to pass it.. I have looked everywhere to find what could be wrong with my baby boy... I can't keep seeing him go through this pain...Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
