child sexual abuse and recurring "Auditory hallucinations"

can anyone 'out there' explain to me, why a child that having been sexually abused (in an adult mental hospital) still suffers (auditory hallucinations), i.e, fear of 'someone coming into the cell', even into his adulthood?

is there any "diagnosis" off, and cure for this-anywhere?
