Chest pain and belching

I am just getting over some sort of bug that kept me in bed all weekend. I began taking the antibiotic Biaxin on Fri and was told to stop taking it today. Whatever I had was viral. Last night I just started having this intense sharp pain in the center of my chest and it even hurts in my back as well. I have this constant feeling I need to belch and when I do, it hurts my chest. Tonight, my chest pains began to intensify when I eat or drink anything. If I take one sip of water, I have to endure 5 minutes of intense chest pain. If I eat even a slice of bread, its even worse. I know this cannot be heartburn as I have had bad heartburn for years and know what it feels like. Nonetheless, I tried plenty of antacids tonight to no avail. I have never experienced anything like this. It is not pleasant to say the least. Anyone know what this could be? Any help would be much appreciated
