The story goes as follows. I'm 20 years old, in good health After a trip in which i had been exposed to some considerable amount of draft and cold, I began experiencing breathing disconfort and some shooting aches in my chest area. I went to see a doctor as soon as i got home. He told me I had a nevralgy in my chest muscles and those interfered with breathing too, also he said I had a upper respiratory infection. He gave me antibiotics, but the symptoms didnt go away. I got a number of unsuccesful treatments with mild antibiotics. After 3 weeks the symptoms are still here. Accopanied by headaches and other flu like symptoms. Another doctor now sais its pneumonia, after looking at an x-ray. I dunno I'm a lil freaked cause it lasts so long and I have no caugh, no fever, which would be classic symptoms of pneumonia.

If anyone has any ideas, I would be really grateful.

  • Any possibility you may have been exposed to mold, dust, or other things on your trip? Did you camp? Potentially encounter any animal droppings? Travel out of the country or to another area of the country? If so, you need to tell your doctor. I hope they are culturing you bug, whatever it is!

  • Hey thanks for the answer! Very slim chances I got some rare virus on my trip, it was to a nearby country, but thats like traveling from New York to Boston (I live in Europe). Didnt camp or stuff like that. I did not culture the bug yet. But how would that be done, if i dont have any secretions from my lungs.

  • I don't have an answer for that question. I'd ask the doctor. Is it possible you had a fever early on and now you don't any more? Sometimes pneumonia does that.

  • Yeah it could be I had a small fever earlier on. Doc said its normal, that it happens sometimes there is no fever, that it shows my immune system is pretty strong. I dunno, just seems a tad weird.
