Ceasless fever

Dear Dr.
My father who is 68 years old has been having a fever of 38/39 degree of centigrade for nearly 6 monthes all the medical tests including (CT, MRI ,LP, BONE MARROW BIOPSY ,HRCT, COLONOSCOPY HIV,TB,BRUCELLOSIS,ENDOSCOPY,MALARIA,TOMUR FACTORS,BONE SCAN,TEE,PSA,IGG,IGM,ELECTROPHORESIS,SONOGRAPHY OF ABDOMEn & PELVIS,CBC,WBC,RBC,ESR,BUN,CREATININ,URIC ACID,SGOT,SGPT,LDH,CPK,ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE,PPD,ANTI DNA,ANKA,VDRL,...) have been normal but currently he can not walk or speak or swallow .
The doctors can't find out what is his problem.:confused:
My father has been diabetic for 20 years .

  • You mentioned everything except what he truly needs:a thorough neurological exam.It sounds as if he has a motor neuron disease.I'm just not sure which one.Many neurological problems have normal lab results.

  • Regarding his fever,does he have chills or night sweats?I'm thinking that whatever is going on with him neurologically is affecting his thermoregulatory center in his brain.
