Hello, I'm a 43 year old man who became ill last year in October, I developed severe head pressure and palpitations which carried on for around 6 weeks, it seemed to be related to me catching a cold, my head felt like it was infected, swimming sensations and I became tired and weak. Everytime I move my heart rate increases and my heart palpitates and I have a feeling of being really unwell. I thought it was my immune system and that it was the cold doing it to me because i couldnt fight it so went and had a t-cell count and HIV test along with all the other STDs and everything came back negative. I got well but soon as the cold season came round this year and I came into contact with my girlfriend who caught a cold it all started again. Its been 2 weeks now and my symtoms are getting worse, the pressure in my head is constant and my eyes hurt, the palpitations come and go through the day but I dont have any cold type symtoms like runny nose or congestion, I have developed several patches of dermatitus on my legs and waist which itches like mad and I think its somehow related. My doctor just wont listen at all because she thinks its anxiety but she is soooo wrong, I know what it feels like to be anxious and although I do get anxious at times its the illness causing anxiety not the other way round. I know that I will get over this in about a month but I dont want to be going through this every year and the pressure on my heart cant be good at my age. What would cause this, its driving me mad trying to find out what is wrong with me and its destroying my life because i just cant function, I cant get warm and feel like I'm dying yet no one will listen.

He thought he had a tumor or stroke. After lots of testing and MRIs, EEGs, EKGs, etc, it turns out he has unstable blood pressure, which causes him to go unconscious. His can be treated with medication that stabilizes the blood pressure. He felt extreme pressure in his heart and felt dizzy and nauseous. His heart would race until he passed out. Some cold medications etc can also increase blood pressure, I believe.

  • That should have been extreme pressure in his head, not heart in my previous reply. My son's cardiologist discovered what was wrong by my son having a heart monitor on for 30 days. It may be worthwhile getting your blood pressure checked this way. The link was also made when he had a tilt table test to check his blood. It never showed a problem up in his heart or cardiovascular system as such, but when the nurses spoke to him on different subjects, the subjects he felt strongly about without realizing, sent a low pressure soaring to a hypertension state. My son is only 22.

Fresh water in a pitcher with a tiny dash of sea salt. Basically you don't have enough blood- you have to make it by drinking more water.I once wanted to jump into traffic- every other second I felt like I was dying.Hang in there. We are here. Please avoid ALL processed food, soda, refined sugar, breads for now.try pears, apples, raisins, yams, lettuce, water cress, cucumber.Drink an onion infussion with cinnamon, clove, and ginger.Try some carrot and pear blend from scratch. No bottle juices, no pastries, no fried food.Remember- you need an acupuncturist to look at you- a good one, certified.Continue drinking water.Keep us posted.Shalom!Fruity.you can't get warm- this might be blood stagnation. Try eating raisins. If they make you sick, ask your Acupuncturist to check you up for Liver or Pancreas unbalanced. It is written in Oriental Medicine texbooks that Anxiety is not a disease, it is a symptom of Pancreas unbalance.Do not drink milk. Eat some cooked fruit, and some steam rice, and some warm broth with a little bit of leafy greens.Pancreas is the key- just search here for pancreatitis...you'll find my other posts.

  • Ive now developed an hordeolum inside my left eye and I'm not sure if its because of the constant pressure or because of my apparent poor immunity. I'm almost certain that the pressure is caused by the cold virus and that I have no normal cold symtoms because they are caused by the immune system. Even in HIV patients colds only last around a week yet I'm getting this problem for up to 6 weeks at a time with no apparent complications like chest infection. If I look at everything as an whole, the dermatitis, the inability to fight off a cold, the lack of symptoms when carrying a cold plus Ive also noticed Candida in my spit early mornings and always awake with a terrible taste in my mouth despite regular brushing. It all points to a severly damaged immune system, I have no medical training whatsover and I can see it plain as day so why cant my doctor. This happened suddenly also not like a long decline in my health, one year I could fight a cold of in as little as 24 hours the next year its making me terribly ill and now I'm developing infections of the eye, skin and ulcers at the corners of my mouth and my doctor says its anxiety it just doesnt make any sense at all. This swimming head pressure and palpitations is leaving me feeling sick, there is no chest pressure or feeling of anxiety that went over a year ago when I realized I wasnt going to die right away. Ive checked other forums and there seems to thousands of people all reporting similar experiances and getting the same response from there doctor, why cant the medical profession just discard there flow charts for once and actually do some thinking because thats what they are scared of, making diagnosis, just in case there wrong. Its pittyful.
