A few years ago I had a kidney burst and was rushed in to surgery. Shortly after I came down with pneumonia and was bedridden for two to three weeks. It happened all very suddenly except the initial pains in my side leading up to it.
I don't want to sound too morbid but I feel like I need to describe what's going on in detail. During the time I had pneumonia I had never felt as much pain my life. It felt like my body was on fire. I didn't have any rest from it except when I was asleep. I also couldn't move at all although I gained my mobility back over time. It was an awful experience. I went back to normal after a month or so.
But ever since then, when I get too hot, it brings me back to that terrible place again. I feel the pain and panic. I'm not sure what that is and if it will ever go away but that rarely happens because I can control the temperature around me.
But more recently I've not been able to regulate my body temperature when I sleep. So now this situation is coming back. I throw the covers off then on and so on. In the past whenever it'd get too hot I'd sweat (after my operation the nurses had to change the sheets 3x a day I was sweating so much). Now I'm not sweating at all if I'm too hot when I sleep.
PS I'm including the details for posterity.
