So my mom has been sick since Feb. It started out as a cold, then went to where she had problems breathing and couldn't talk. She said it felt like there was a lump in her throat. Then she woke up one morning and said the lump moved. She was totally fine except she lost complete hearing out of her right ear overnight. Her symptoms then progressed to being dizzy, then having trouble standing or bending. She has ringing in her ear, vertigo, numbness, and problems thinking of things. Like she had a problem spelling the word apple. We have been to many doctors, they have run multiple tests and got no results. Anyone know what could be going on?

Difficult when Dr,s have run many tests with no diagnosis, its possible she had severe congestion with the cold, giving a feeling of a lump in the throat, infection and congestion can affect the whole e.n.t tract, ear ringing is usually tinnitus, and labrinthitus in the ear can cause dizziness and problems standing, also vertigo, you dont say where the numbness is, but if your feeling dizzy, unwell, you can have problem concentrating and even spelling simple words. Though wouldnt expect Dr,s not to think and test for labrinthitus, as symptoms of poor balance are typical. Did they look into her ears, to see if she,s inner ear problem, if not that l,m not sure.

She thought that she had acoustic neuroma because that accounts for every single one of her symptoms, but tests came back negative. But if you look up the symptoms for acoustic neuroma, that is exactly what she is going through. The numbness is pretty much just her face and the ear that she lost hearing out of. I think it is more around the cheek area of her face.
