hi

I have just had my pap test results back from the GYN , he called to tell me I had a normal pap test , BUT it showed up 99% for Candida Albicans, as I dont have any symptoms, he is not going to treat it...IS THIS CORRECT, no diet nothing.

I also go in for a Colonoscopy on 4th May, as they thought I may have had Crohns Disease....but for over 25yrs, i have suffered IBS.

ANY HELP APPRECIATED....many thanks

Chica

  • The IBS probably IS a symptom of Candida overgrowth. Do you have a high sugar, or high carb diet? Have you ever taken large or prolonged doses of antibiotics? These and other factors kill off good bacteria in your gut, and let the Candida, which is naturally there in small amounts take over. You don't have to have vaginal itching to have this problem, and the Candida diet (no sugar, no processed grains, limit fruits -emphasizing grapefruit, green apples, lemons, avocado as the main fruits in your diet, no meat that has antibiotics in it -buy organic meat or go vegetarian- increase yogurt for the good bacteria, eat good fats like olive oil and coconut oil) may help with your GI troubles. This is a very often misdiagnosed problem, and there is lots of alternative information on the internet. Good Luck!

  • i agree candida is more than likely causing you IBS.you will also have parasites as candida and parasites go hand in hand.........best way is to find a good natropath in your area and get treated with herbs and diet......you will feel so much better for it and once your gut is healed you will have set your self up for great healhty eating habits............if you dont trreat candida it will invade your whole body (may have all ready) and it gets into al your organs..............as the above post said get some natural unsweeted plain yoghurt and eats lots............if you can get some kefir grains then even better!!!!!!!!!! cheers

  • I Was over treated with antibiotics as a child. Candida has wreaked havoc for decades. Anti-candida diet, probiotics, Vitamin B, C, Magnesium, Flax oil, these will all help. The diet is stringent, and being vegan is a challenge. I have to go off vegan diet sometimes...anyway, I've found that food grade Diamatoceous Earth helps, also. You can research it and decide for yourself, but when taking probiotics, and doing the diet, you don't want food sitting around in your gut. The DE helps!
