Ive had this phlegm in my throat for nearly a year now. Im constantly coughing and hacking to get it out. I live in a town where its hard to see a doctor but I do have a very helpful nurse practitioner and she is trying to diagnose the problem the best she can but still...no diagnosis. Ive used inhalers, losec, zantac, tums, rolaids because she thought that the phlegm production might have something to do with GERD and these medicines temporarily relieve the phlegm cough but it comes right back. At night, I have to take robitussin to relieve the phlegm cough so I can sleep. I "sometimes" have trouble swallowing and "sometimes" get a pain sensation towards my upper back. Anyways...I listed these symptoms on the web and it seems that they are symptoms of Esophageal Cancer.
My question is...has anybody out there had "any" experience with this type of disease or has known anybody close that had it? Can you tell me more about the symptoms..because it worries me that I may have it.
