Now I have been poo-pooed and concidered a hypocondriac by maney doctors who believe now it is all in my head! I wish it were at least then there would be help for me!!! I now have some major this going on with my health and no one can tell me why I seem to be rapidly ageing and having troubles that my 66 year old mother is having. Here is a brief list from newest to oldest:

  • I suggest to post all your symptoms as sometimes a tiny specific thing mentioned helps another to see what the problem is. You are missing some symptoms here which may help me know what your issue probably is.

I experience light headedness often and its usually due to blood sugar, it is possible that you may have a few things running together here. None of these symptoms seem to just fit one thing.

That's confirmed what I had bee thinking. I think from all this.. Im fairly sure you have ME. Check out http://wwcoco.com/cfids/bernesx.html The things you say which are helping you also fits in with the ME picture as from an informal study done at a CFS/ME site I hang out in.. out of 24 CFS/ME cases when asked "List your three favourite supplements" .. 15 said B vitamins.. over half of those who have ME (myself included) find B vitamin types helpful. Multi-vitamins came up as the 4th most helpfulsupplement in ME(vitamin E and Evening Primose was mentioned by at least one out of the 24 of helping their ME). (I'll post this and do another post on what I think may help you further).

  • There is half a chance that you will find B12 helpful too.. Most with ME find the form of B12 called methylcobalamin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylcobalamin the best form of B12 for us as its an active form of B12.A few of us thou take adenosylcobalamin or hydroxycobalamin forms which seem to help a bit. I strongly suggest you give methylcobalamin a trial for a few mths. Also you may find magnesium possibly helpful (i think it was about a third of those with ME found magnesium as being helpful)....... You also seeing you have pica (the ice eatting), are likely to have other deficiencies too. The diarrhea may of been irritable bowel syndrome which is quite common in ME. Things which help IBS are probotics and fibre supplements (avoid the ones with artifical stuff eg sweeteners in them as they may make it worst rather then help). There are also some common stomach/bowel issues in ME. You are likely to have postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) with ME (most of us have it.. you didnt mention it but if you have this you will often find you can be worst with heat (heat intollerance).. POTS can make one very thirsty and will give one palpitations). Having POTS adds to the ME symptoms and makes things worst. If you do have POTS, there is certain things which can be done to help this part of the ME. Thou a rarer ME symptom, I used to get issues with a swelling hand (for me just the one hand) with the ME.
