If anyone has any ideas please let me know.....
I am 38 yrs old, most all of my symptoms started in my 20's.
I first began to just run a fever for no reason at all about 15 yrs ago, shortly after that mild aches and pains (muscles and joints) began. The fevers were low but still there. This would happen about 2 or 3 times a month. Gradually the pain in my muscles and joints began to get worse over a period of about 2 or 3 years.
I saw my doc who ran lots of tests. I tested positive on a antinuclear antibody test (ana) and was sent to a rhuemetologist to rule out lupus. I had no butterfly rash or anything like that. The rhuem did alot of blood work and x-rays and said I had hashimotos thyroiditis, psioratic arthritis, and possibly fibro. He put me on azulfadine and vioxx, both had awful side affects and made me very sick and weak. I ended up going off and have just taken advil since....
Now, jump ahead to present day, I have gone all this time with no treatment because I get a different dx everytime I go to get another opinion. They ruled out psioratic arthritis, dx'd me with fibro, I do have a thyroid condition but levels are always normal. My symptoms now are extreme joint pain, muscle pain, itching, hair loss, rashes, boils that stay for months, fevers, slow healing sores and cuts on my feet(blood sugar was 120), I test neg for rf factor but have all the symptoms of ra, some mornings I can barely move my arms or hands.
My hips bother me when standing, my knees hurt, I have gained 65 lbs in the last 6 months plus I gained about 40 or 50 in the year before that. I still eat like I did 20 years ago, no snacking, not much sweets, no 2nds at dinner, but I weigh almost 350 now.
My doc is currently running more thyroid tests. I am just so fed up. I only take one med, Cymbalta, for anxiety and depression. I am on 60mg once a day. I have been on this for over a year now.
I have tried every otc med for pain, even took my sons left over codiene from his broken hand on really bad days. I hurt all the time, I never get a break from th epain, fatigue, ect.... If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
Sorry if this is a bit jumbled or hard to read, I get my thoughts run together sometimes.
