Symptoms: Starts with building pressure on upper left side of head low at first can last for hours or minutes until bursting feeling on the left side of my head. followed by intense pain and a drainage feeling. last night I could feel the veins in my head just above my temple on the left side they where very hard and throbbing then the bursting feeling came and the veins instantly went slack. then about 10 seconds later I lost all vision in my left eye it became very hard to breath and I almost passed out with what I could see with my right eye my vision tunneled and I lost thought processes and coordination. I don't think I can describe the absolute terror I had come over me. if you know something about this condition please help!!!! I have had a cat scan about 3 weeks ago dealing with this and it came out normal.

What you have is Giant Cell Arteritis (a.k.a. Temporal Arteritis). You need to have blood tests done, specifically an ESR and C-Reactive Protein test. You will then be put on either IV steroids or oral steroids. Run, do not walk to the ER. Skip your primary care doctor. If nothing is done you are at extreme risk of having a stroke. Good luck.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant-cell_arteritishttp://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000448.htm
