About 20 years ago, I fractured my left collarbone. Soon after the fracture I noticed a yellowish bruise form on my left shoulder blade along with very long hair. The bruise is still there along with the abnormal hair along with mild to severe pain daily. I have spoke with my family doctor many times with no solid answers. I am wondering if any one else have come across this problem described?

While the ankle healed, the bruise on my shin still hasn't faded and I have developed a hard lump. I still have mild to severe pain daily and I too, have abnormal hair growth, but only where the bruise is. I asked my doctor about this, and the only suggestion she gave was that perhaps with the extra blood in that area, it was promoting the hair growth. She said if I were to shave it, it probably would not come back. Well I shaved it, and it did come back. So, I don't know. I've been concerned as to why I'm not healing, and especially about the hair growth. You are the first person who I have heard with a similar experience. If you come across any resolve, please report it.

The bruise is still there, it still hurts and the hair is growing rapidly...but just where the bruise is. I was starting to freak out. I haven 't seen a doctor about this yet...but I 'll let you know what they tell me.

I will be seeing my doctor again. It seemed like it was healing again, but I re-injured it while skydiving. :S Go figure, I didn't even land on my feet, I landed on my butt! haha! And when I travel by air, the change in altitude or air pressure, I'm not sure which but something sure causes pain.

  • I am still feeling moderate to severe pain daily. I am now experiencing numbness in my left hand and arm and a rib bulging in my left chest cavity.. My last two digits on hand go numb while sleeping. This has been happening the past 8 months since my last post. A doctor recently mentioned that the abnormal hair growth is related to a soft tissue injury(needs proper rehab) and the numbness in my digits are related to a syndrome. The syndrome is related to the thoracic outlet in the chest. I am hoping for more information in the coming months on my injury as all of my tests have come back all good(ECG, EMG, Heart test, blood work, and no arthritis in the area.

  • I work with a guy who was recently in a motorcycle accident. He's never had any hair on his legs until after the accident. Now he has a patch of hair on his knee, which was injured in the wreck. He went in this last week to have some coagulated blood removed from the knee. Don't know if that could have anything to do with the hair growth?
