About four weeks ago I've jammed my thumb and my thumb nail broke all the way across more or less exactly where the nail appears from under the skin.
I have taken a few photos of what it looks like today: http://www.flickr.com/photos/32211768@N00/ sets/72157624265719543/show/
It seems as if both parts of the nail continue to grow, but there are the following issues I'm concerned about:
- The back part of the nail looks rather deformed. I hope it doesn't stay like this...
- While on the left and right of the nail the back part is more or less flush with the front part, it seems to grow over it a bit in the middle.
- There seem to be areas where the nail isn't joined to the nailbed. Will the nail grow back being attached as before?
- While this has been completely pain free (apart from when it happened), it seems that it starts getting sore just ever so slightly.
I'll only be able to see a doctor in about 2 - 3 weeks time. Does anyone have experiences with this?
