Hi all. Hope someone can help.
For many years I have been suffering from spells of having the feeling of not being able to breath, becoming panicy, fast heart beat and constantly having to cough during a bad spell. My lungs can also feel sticky like inside. I also am very twitchy in my feet and legs. Sometimes a full body ***k. The times that are my worst would be a day after I have some booze and some cigarettes, but it can happen at any time. At a bad time I simply can not sit down as I move around too much.
I initially went to the ER as I was struggling to breathe but they checked me out and said nothing was wrong. Same as my GP. So they though it was anxiety and put me on Venlafaxine. Been on it for years now. It does help, but not that much.
I tend to just get on with things now, but having an attack is terrible.
I've always had the idea that it is not a mental problem. I seriously have never had anything to worry about at all. I've always thought it is a physical problem.
