For the past few months I have had sever breathing attacks. The first 3 times I woke up at 3 o clock in the morning and couldnt take a deep breath. When I did it hurt all the way from my throat to every vessel in my lungs. My shallow breathing was wheezing and I could not lie down as the breathing was worse. I literally have to sit up until it eases (which takes a few hours). I have been to the doctor and had a chest xray but that was clear. I have had it 2 in the last 2 weeks. During the day and lastnight as I was lying in bed going to sleep. The doctor gave me an inhaler (I had asthma when I was younger) but I cant actually take it as its the inhaler you have to suck/pull on in order for the spray to work. When I get this attack my lungs become very weak and it almost feels like I have weights attached to the bottom of them when Im trying to breathe in. I still have pains in my back after the attack lastnight. Im at my wits end. The doctor originally thought it may be stress related, but I know its not. The pain is very bad and I am wheezing and trying to not breathe in deeply. I have kept a log of my food and I cant see any link there. Does anyone have any idea what this could be ? I am perfectly healthy apart from this. It is beginning to really get to me. I cant be ringing in sick all the time because Im up all night with this breathing attack.
