my daughter is 18 months and her mouth often smells of bleach. (something like clorox). Oral hygiene is no issue because i wash and clean her mouth after every meal and drink. I am told that certain smells in breath indicate some underlying health problem. so i am thinking, is there anything wrong with her.

  • "Any time you get the chance to be around someone who has had a head injury they will have this (bleach) smell eminating from their mouth! You cannot get rid of it no matter how much you do mouth care. Have no idea how to discribe it, but it is there!" Got that at http://allnurses.com/forums/f8/cdiff-smell-198631-2.html This was in a post about C. Diff, or Clostridium Difficile Colitis. It has to do with intestinal bacteria, and they describe other odors (more like feces) that result from that. I would have her checked out. Good luck!
