I Went To My Dentist 2 Days Ago And Its Really Bad Today. Only My Husband And Daughter Will Even Tell Me. I Am Avoiding Everyone Because I Feel As Though It Will Offend Them.

  • Even though you visit the dentist every 6 months, you need checked for periodontal disease. I am a hygienist and I have seen NUMEROUS patients that transfer from other dentists and periodontal disease has been overlooked. Make sure they check "pocketing" with a periodontal probe. Anything 4mm or over is a sign of this. Also, make sure you are flossing aggressively enough. I can't tell you how many times I floss patients and the plaque gets impacted and when i remove it by flossing it smells REALLY bad. Also, try a tongue scraper and get back very far on your tongue. Your tongue actually harbors more odor causing bacteria than anywhere else in your mouth. Make sure you are having updated xrays at the dentist, particularly PA (periapical) xrays now and then. Sometimes an abscess or periapical pathology can cause odors without causing any pain or other symptoms.
