Dear Brethren,

I have suffering from boils for the last two month. these boils are developed on my inner thighs, below knees and sometimes on my balls also. It pains a lot when its about to cure. I take out a lot of pus also. Each time I get two boils, before they cure, I can sense another two developing somewhere else. It has been irritating. I checked my sugar. every thing is normal. did my urine test also. the doctors told me the test show that I am normal. I have been advised to take Lycored, I am taking them. Please help me.

  • You sound like you might have hidradenitis suppurativa (HS).do you get tract like patterns from one boil to the next? If you leave the boil alone will it get large and red and painful until it evetually pops?If these are your symptoms then I'd say you have HS. It is NOT an STD and it is not curable yet, but there are websites and message boards that you can google and get more information and insight about this condition.Good luck!

  • hello' I believe that what you have is a staph (staphelococcus epidermidis) infection which can be gotten by sitting on the toilet used by an infected person. Tell your Dr to give you some penicillin or ampicillin and that will take care of it. Remember to take the whole course of any of these antibiotics. If not you will have a recurrent infection. Good Luck.

  • Go to the doctor and have the doctor culture the pus. I had boils that looked like spider bites at first and a doctor just dismissed it as nothing. Turned out I had MRSA which is resistant staph. With MRSA its hard to find an antibiotic to treat it. There are some strong ones though. My dad is a diabetic and caught MRSA from me and didn't think he did. He started having pain in his legs and went to the dr because he could barely walk. Shortly after he lost partial eyesight. He was in the hospital for 6 weeks because the MRSA got into his blood system because his body was too weak from uncontrolled diabetes to fight it off. He almost died. The doctor gave him 48-72 hours when he first got to the hospital. They were surprised he made it through. Now he's blind in one eye, has bad problems with his leg (had to have 2 minimal knee surgeries in the hospital) and other problems from it. He can't even work anymore. The point in my story is, never write it off as nothing even though it may very well be...nothing. Tell the doctor ur want it cultured. They can also swab ur nose and run a culture on it. The doctor will of course tell you we all have staph on our skin. Which is true, but we don't all have MRSA on our skin, MRSA is what causes more problems. Once it's in ur blood stream you have to be on IV antibiotics for a very long period of time. Althought my boils never made it to getting me as bad as my dad was ...they were painful. I got them for over a year before we found an antibiotic that worked. Because I was pregnant and breastfeeding they couldn't find one for awhile. My baby caught MRSA when she was just 2 months old and she too had a boil on her inner thigh and now it's scarred. Better safe than sorry. I stress the importance of finding out if u have MRSA because I don't want to see other people end up like my dad :(.
