My 8 yr old son has a body odor that I really can't describe. It's almost stale or musty but it does not come from under his arm pits and not even that kind of smell. The best way for me to describe it is that when he is out playing basketball or even running around its like his pores open. He really does not sweat. I have to make sure that when we are going to go out he stays put so he doesn't have to change and bath again. Which I have to have him do 3 or more times a day. Any idea what this could be?

  • Is he using any kinds of drugs or has liver problems? I would take this to a pediatrician!

  • What foods does he eat? Does he eat alot of dairy and sugar? What is his digestion like - any gas and bloating? Constipation or diarrhea? Any skin rashes or eczema? Does his urine smell? Bathing him 3 times a day is crazy...this will disrupt his natural oils in his skin. I agree this should be adressed by a pediatrician or homeopath. Best wishesDOM

  • I had the same problem develop in my feet. The smell was so bad my husband would always tell me to wash my feet even though I had do so before going into our bedroom. It was embarassing and it lasted several months. I couldn't even take my shoes off for a second while at work or someone in the office would complain of a terrible odor in the air. But I discovered I was short of zinc in my system. I bought tablets at a local healthfood store at a friend's suggestion and my smelly embarassment went away. Hope this helps!
