Hey all, I'm an 18yr old female and my chest goes really blotchy red when I'm warm/hot, drinking alcohol or when am talking to someone I don't really know. Its really weired and embarressing. My skin is sensitive and I have Raynaud's disease but I never used to get this up untill about a year ago. It also comes out when my skin goes from cold to hot fast or just from exercising and it doesnt last that long and its just around my chest, shoulders and breasts. I'm really curious because I had never experienced this before, this is really bugging me. It probebly started when I first tried alcohol, I don't drink now but its still coming up like an allergic reaction. Is there a medical condition for this? Can i get rid of it? and what triggered it to appear?
any advise would be great thanks

  • Hey all, I'm an 18yr old female and my chest goes really blotchy red when I'm warm/hot or when am talking to someone I don't really know. I dont know the medical term for it.. but my mother used to always call that kind of rash you described which i used to get (it was itchy too).. heat rash. I just seem to be sensitive to things.... and it isnt something, i myself worry about at all. Getting rash when talking to someone you dont know..sounds like a kind of nervous blush reaction. You may not even be aware thou that you are nervous.

  • Maybe just heat rash, or maybe something else. My husband had this for years and thought it was no big deal until I laid eyes on it, sent him off to urgent care while it was still present, and they diagnosed Lyme disease. Take photos or make an appointment the next time it happens. Better safe than sorry.

  • thanks for your sugestions, i don't think its lyme disease, its just an annoying rash like thing that comes up like you said when I'm embarressed or nerveous. It get it all over me when i have a boiling hot shower too. I think it is some type of heat rash, its not itchy though.

  • I seem to suffer with this too.Whenever i'm embarressed or come in from the cold into a hot room or do any excersise i seem to overheat. I get very hot and itchy and blotchy red skin. It started about 2 years ago after i had an ellergic reaction to antibiotics. Which triggered these same symptoms. Its very embarressing for me a 25 y.o man who works in a male dominated enviroment to keep looking like this, and often this going through my head just makes it worse! And talking to anyone of the female sex, well thats just a plain old no-no! LOL.If its any help to anyone else, i've found that i can control it (a little) by training my thoughts to something else, to take my mind off it. Even just going out of the room to make a cup of tea helps. But i have had it so bad sometimes that my vision starts to go blury and i cant think straight. ( and before you say it, i dont drink!)lol

If i'm exercising or even just walking for a longer period of time my legs and feet get all blotchy and red. This also happens on my chest if I'm nervous, whenever i get out of the shower. Because I preform and sing in front of audiences it makes it really difficult to deal with. I havn't found a solution yet, but i'm trying to find some cooling body lotions or mists (stuff with peppermint, aloe etc) this way i can carry them around and use them when i feel the symptoms coming on. Has anyone else tried these cooling sprays? if yes, do they work?

  • I am 14 year old male and I have been getting the same thing for over a month now. It happens when i walk or exercise for a long period of time, when I am in a very hot shower, or when I stand for an extended period of time. It is very frustrating because I went to the doctor for it and he had me get blood tests done and everything came back clean, and he didnt tell me what to do now! So any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • see with me,i live in hot weather. so whenever its really hot outside(all the time) my left leg gets splotchy and red. Only my left one. I cant even tell its there until i look down, its not itchy or burning or anything, just embaraassing. it's quite obnoxious. i get it on the inner thigh too. no one seems to know what it is. i went to a dermo doc and she said it was nothing. Also, in the cold it turns purple. like wth? when its cold my leg gets purple, when its hot, it turns red. like seriously? -.- anyone have anything that would help speak up!

  • Mine does the same thing and it just started happening within the last year or so. If I eat hot foods, drink alcohol, am nervous, angry or stressed, speak in front of groups of people, etc. I have Raynauds also. It is all over my chest and neck and takes forever to go away. People look at me constantly and ask if I'm okay. I feel like a freak. I heard someone else was taking Propranolol which is a beta-blocker and has a calming effect and can help reduce blood pressure too. I think I'm going to ask my doctor to try it. It's happening on a daily basis now. So embarrassing!!!!
