Yesterday was my 21st birthday, I am a caucasion male. I had two shots of Vodka before my stomach ache really kicked in. My stomach had been hurting earlier but it wasn't really bad until I drank. Earlier in the day, I ate a breakfast platter and some pizza (not the best foods, but it was my birthday).

At 3 AM I woke up and had diaheria (sp?), and I woke up twice more before 7 AM to take care of that again. I had another movement around 9:30, and I saw that the stool was a bright red (I have red this is something with a rectal problem?). Not to be out-done, I had two more bowel movements- one at around 10:30- 11:00 AM, and another at 1:00PM. That's a lot of poopin', and that alone has me concerned. The strange thing is that the movement at 11:00 AM had no blood, but the one at 1:00 PM did.

My stomach hurts in intervals, it feels like cramps, and most accurately described as having been punched really hard in the stomach. The pain relieves itself if I am laying flat, and when I losen my pants, but doesn't go away completely.

The biggest problem is that I don't have health insurance, so I can't go to a doctor unless this will be an emergency.

THe possible causes I have reserached include a Foodborn Illness, and some kind of rectal bleeding....those are the ones that I think are the most likely.

Please, any kind of urgent help is appreciated, I'm very worried and it's not a good way to spend the day after my birthday.

  • I have the SAME exact thing...I've never went set an appointment for it for the same reason, no insurance. I am 21 years old and the "cramp" feeling pain is sometimes unbearable. Laying flat truly does help it from hurting as bad sometimes, but the pain never stops from any kind of tylenol I've tried. When these symptoms occur I also from time to time notice blood that come from the rectum. Please anyone can you tell me if this is serious or not? I would say that it happens almost every week at any random time. Any input would be great, thanks.

  • I am not a doctor or anything but have you looked into the possibility of Crohn's Disease. Some symptoms......Inflammatory bowel disease, or IBD, describes two similar yet distinct conditions called Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. These diseases affect the digestive system and cause the intestinal tissue to become inflamed, form sores and bleed easily. Symptoms include abdominal pain, cramping, fatigue and diarrhea.

  • due to the sudden onset of the condition, it does sound like a foodborn illness. The doctor will determine which little bug is bugging you and prescribe an anti-spasmotic for your intestines and an antibiotic to kick the infection. We experience it in our house last year - takeout BBQ's beans.go to doctor during office hours and tell the doctor you do not have insurance but want to make payments. They often reduce the cost of the visit for non-insured.
