My 19 year old daughter has been having blood in her urine on and off for over a year. We've been to several doctors and no one has diagnosed her. She has taken over 12 urine test in the last year that prove no STD's or UTI. She has pain in her lower back and lower stomach and painfull urination. Coffee or alcohol seem to agrivate it. She went to the urgent care clinic near her college and the doctor confirmed no STD, UTI and said she did have blood in her urine and that it must be coming from another organ. He then sent her home with antibiotics and pain killers. She had a reaction to the pain killers last night and was rushed to emergency by ambulance (severe shaking). ER gave her valium and sent her home. She is vomiting this evening. I'm very concerned and 3 hours away from her. We are in California Bay Area - A good Doctor referral would be nice. Have great medical plan.

  • I had the exact symptoms, and it ended up that I was passing small grains of kidney stones. It was very painful as they worked themselves out. I received a catscan? and received a diagnosis. They said they were too small so I would have to pass them. They will offer your daughter pain reliever if she asks for it, probably. Sometimes there was a lot of blood and other times just a little or none. The pain was hard and it took a month or two before they all were out.If she passes the stones, the docs will be unable to diagnose what has been flushed down the toilet. The doc will give her a strainer (might need to ask for one) so she can catch these awful little grains! Best Wishes for your daugher.:)
