I am a 22 year old female. I have been noticing for the past week when I awake in the morning, I spit, and there is alot of blood. I thought it was because of the weather and my nose being dry or from my wisdom teeth coming in, but I'm staring to think its not. Its starting to be that everytime I spit I have small to large traces of blood through out it. I am a smoker, and have been for several years now- about 5 years. For two years I smoke a pack a day. I'm wondering what is causing the bleeding.
I do have breathing problems and am starting to develop asthma. Is this the beginning signs of lung cancer or pnemonia? please help I'm really concerned.

  • The smoking is probably the culprit, but just to be sure, you should visit your doc and get a chest xray. Here are some of the nastier things that bloody sputum indicates. Lung cancer, TB, pneumonia and bronchitis. look them up and see all the pictures. That should help you quit.
