I like to donate blood 3 or 4 times a year. 50% of the time my iron is too low to donate. I have started adding iron pills (150% RDA) to my multivitamin (100%) a week in advance. I eat steak the night before donating. This time I was at 36, the cut off is 38. I am on Weight Watchers and don't eat red meat much. I also drink a lot of coffee. How do I get my iron up and is this condition dangerous?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
