  • I would suggest that instead of trying to constantly apply ointments on the lips use the already mentioned supplements internally. Try using Vitamin E capsules. Also have your lips constantly moisturized with aloe vera and you can even take aloe internally.Holistic Healer

  • Thanks Holistic Healer The vitamin E & aloe idea will be tried immmediate..interesting...the earlier forum comments about vegetables & fruit made sense and my wife has been cajoled into miles of that and altho I might be kidding myself...there seems to be an improvment.Your chosen psuedonym is interesting...I'm somewhat scared of the terms Holistic/Naturapath as at a much earlier date I had to choose between natural remedies & a cardiologist for major bypass etc and the result was thank God I chose the latter...Yet I'm truly aware that our mind contols the whole works...but I've never been able to jump that hurdle..Do you practice or simply believe in it??...Thanks anyway!JohnF

  • If it is the result of the skin being chapped and cracking, the only topical treatment I recommend is petrolatum. The one I use is Aquaphor, but I belive any patroleum jelly works the same. And I have to laugh at the "The Secret" suggestion...though I suppose it couldn't hurt to picture yourself with not bleeding lips.
