i have recently changed sex partners and often when i have sex with him i begin to bleed. The blood runs out fast and heavy but i feel no pain and yet he is not my first sexual partner. I am currently on the contraceptive pill and the pill i do take means i do not have periods. so why am i bleeding during sex?

  • Could be lots of things... If you are on the pill and are not taking it properly, or have chronic diarrhea which impacts the absorption of the hormones, or if you have been taking antibiotics that mess up the pill it can all cause bleeding... it also can be a sign of stds, or endometriosis. Or if you just havent had sex in awhile and its a new partner that you are getting used to it could happen till you've been broken in a little...

  • My first guess would be that his "equipment" is proportioned differently than your body is use to and, like the other poster said, you just need time to "break him in". One of my friends was a rather small girl and dated a well endowed guy and would often bleed after sex. You might want to see a gynecologist or related specialist about this however. It could be STDs or it could be related to a larger problem that for whatever reason, just isn't presenting itself in more noticeable ways (like pain). My bet is on the "equipment" issue though.

  • BC pills that cause you not to have a period by contrast cause you to have thickened endometrial linings (since they dont shed every month). The pressure on the uterus caused by penetration shakes some blood loose, so to speak. I'd see my gyno, mention the problem and reconsider no period bc pills.
