Bladder Pain I think

Occasionally I get this sharp intense pain in what I can only guess is my bladder. It always happens right after I urinate, but not every time. Sometimes I can go days with no pain at all. Some days it happens every time I pee. The pain is sometimes minor and other times very intense.

This has been going on for 6 months or so. I told my doctor who gave me a prescription to combat infections. I cannot remember the name, but will try to find it. I didnt finish the cycle, as I had a bad side affect.

Would an infection have lasted this long with no additional symptoms?

Any ideas?

  • Chlamydia could last that long if not treated, and give bladder pain.

  • Thank you ML, but I have no other symptoms of Chlamydia. It could be I suppose, but it's been a long time since I've had a new sexual partner. Does anyone else have an idea of what this could be?

  • http://www.netwellness.org/question.cfm/33576.htm You probably should have had the meds switched out. The only one I can take is macrodantin. It could be e coli.

  • Ask your doctor to do a CRP. A small pinch in your finger will show if you have any kind of infection going on and if its caused by a virus or bacteria. If your crp is very high then that usally means bacteria, but if not then a virus is usually the cause. Kiera

  • For 8 months I had a pain in my vaginal area, it hurt every time I pee, some days worst that others. it took me many doctors and many test done, finally I found help with a urologyst which diagnos me with INTERSTITIAL CYSTITIS, wich is inflamation of the bladder, it causes pain and frecuent urination in some cases. You shoul go and ask your doctor if this could be it.
