Dear Sir / Madam,
About 2 months back from now, my son (Date of birth - 16.08.2006) was suffering from fever, loose stools & vomitting. I got him to a doctor who diagnosed it to be viral infection. My son responded well with the given medicines & just then when he was recovering, he started getting stomach ache which got severe day by day, but his fever had cured by this time. Doctor advised us to get his tummy scanned & we followed suit. The scanned report said that he was suffering from "Intussusception". We admitted him immediately to the hospital as per doctor's advice & a paediatric surgeon performed "pneumatic reduction under C-Arm" which rectified the intussusception. My son was doing really well for about 2 months after the pneumatic reduction. About 8 days back (i.e., 2 months after the pneumatic reduction) my son again got fever followed by loose stools, he was diagnosed for a viral infection in his tummy & was given the medicines accordingly, he responded well to the medicines & his fever got off from him, but, the stomach ache increased slowly day-by-day & got severe. We got him to the doctor again who advised us to get his tummy scanned again & to our bad luck, the report showed recurrence of "Intussusception" & this time doctor said that there is no other go other than incision for rectification of intussusception, since it had recurred. When we asked as to whey incision & why not pneumatic reduction again, doctor educated that when intussusception re-occurs, they need to find out the reason for recurrence. We gave our consent for the operation. Ater the operation, doctor told us that his lymphnodes had swelled more than the normal & suspected that they are causing as the lead point for intussusception. Hence, they had cut a lymphnode & given it for testing to a pathologist. The lymphnode test report said that it had "Follicular Hyperplasia". I asked the doctor as to how this "Follicular Hyperplasia" can be cured & he said we will wait for sometime becoz the child has just now got operated. He said that he if intussusception re-occurs then then will try to reduce the swelling of lympynode by administering steriods, but, after the correction of intussusception by pneumatic reduction. I am totally worried about my child's health & am not able to concentrate on my professional life. Request you to please let me know the answers for my below questions.
1. Please let me what is "Follicular Hyperplasia"? Can it be cured, if yes, then how.
2. Pls let me know whether the process of treatment followed by my doctor is right or wrong.
3. If in case if "Follicular Hyperplasia" is rectified, will "Intussusception" re-occur.
Thanking you in anticipation
