I am in the hospital now. I have been here since Tuesday 1/11 I have had a CT scan and I have been told I have Diverticulitis. I have spent until today on a no anything diet and IV fluids and antibiotics.
Things progressed well until today when I was put back on a solid food diet.
I started feeling light headed after my third meal .I now have stomach cramps and I am burping but not passing anything via rectum.
I am afraid that I may have some underlying blockage which has caused this Diverticulitis in the first place.
I am now on pain killers again and very concerned, that if i do not have a bowl movement
I could rupture my Diverticula
PS I have not had a real good bowel movement since last Wednesday “less than a small glass full” that is since 1/5/11 or 6 days ago.
should i go around the doctor and take a laxatives or try an enima from the other side.
i do not know they might efect a healing Diverticulitis.
I was told I would be realsed tomorrow if solid food was not a problem. I believe it is right now. HELP
what should my next course of action be?
