:(Four weeks ago, I woke up with immense pressue in my lower lumbar area and since I hadn't done anything to hurt or strain my back, I thought I had slept in a strained position. After 2 weeks of having a nagging backache that was now radiating across my upper right pelvic bone from the center of my back, I went to a chiropractor. After xrays, he said my back was in good condition and that I should consult with my primary care physician. In the pursuing days, I started to run a low grade fever and felt fatigued and extremely nauseated. I also noticed that I couldn't hold my urine for more than a few minutes without being in excrutiating pain. A CT scan has now shown that I have 2 prominent cysts on each ovary, multiple cysts on my kidneys and all the lymph nodes in my pelvic area are enlarged. I went for a lumbar MRI a few days ago but haven't received the results back and am now scheduled for a pelvic contrast MRI tomorrow. Although the antiobiotics, I started on a week ago, broke my fever and reduced the nausea, I keep feeling more pain and weaker. What do you think I might have - cancer, kidney disease, something else? By the way, my blood tests show everything is very normal except for an elevated white blood count and my urine tests showed no signs of an UTI.

  • did this happen after sex? Did you get an STD screening? Well, your cysts don't help your situation. You might want a more detailed endocrine screening to regulate hormones. If your doctor is worried about cancer, he/she will do a biopsy of your uterus, which is no piece of cake. Sounds like your doctor will take care of you.
