Hey,

extreme tiredness, feeling faint and weak, headaches, weak immune system (catching every bug thats going atm), very high blood pressure, regular UTI's, every time they dip my urine something comes up usually protein, tight chest, pain when cough and sneeze, back and joint pain, abdominal pain and constipation.!

Have seen my G.P on numerous occasions doesnt seem to be bothered just keeps saying you be fine without checking anything! Heard lots bad things about him so in the process of changing G.Ps so am hoping something will come up then have a appointment tommorow!

Thanks xbekahxI don't want to scare you and I really have to say that I am not sure about this, but has your doctor checked you out for tumors? I was reading some thread few days ago with similar symptoms, and that user said it will go and check for tumors. Try to suggest this to your GP.

  • Well, when you say "very high blood pressure," please provide the actual reference numbers. The same holds true for protein in the urine. If you have a copy of the lab results, please indicate the values. If you're spilling protein into your urine in the presence of unregulated or poorly controlled hypertension, then we're always concerned about kidney problems which don't typically produce symptoms until the latter stages. Again, however, this is dependent upon the actual values regarding your blood pressure and proteinuria. A little protein can be evident in urine culture in the presence of an UTI or other inflammatory process. Subcumbing to frequent viral infections (bug) does not necessarily mean that you have a weak immune system. Direct laboratory evaluation is necessary to discern whether your immune system is compromised to any extent. When you say that you have pain when you cough and sneeze, you need to be more specific. Specifically where do you experience pain during such occurance? Also, constipation alone can cause abdominal, back and even flank pain. If the lab values do not demonstrate an obvious reason for your lethargy or fatigue, then it would be important to know whether you exercise and whether you have actual focal weakness. Many patients can feel tired or lethargic, but actually have normal motor strength and capacity for considerable exertion on demand. Emotional stress in of itself can produce a wide variety of symptoms, many that are similar to those being described by you. This is not to say that stress is the sole underlying cause, but in the absence of clinical test results that have ruled out pathology, then it has to be considered as contributory. Specifically where do you experience the pain from headaches? Do you have a history of migraines? What medications are you presently taking and what is your general past medical history. Please remember that this is the Internet and vague descriptions in the absence of actual clinical information will most always result in an equally limited response. Also remember to be anonymous in all regards since your health care record data is protected by law and when you post any actual content here, you are essentially waiving such rights. Incidentally, "tumors" is not a clinical diagnosis and under the circumstances would not be relevant to your symptoms. Best regards, J Cottle, MD

  • Wow. Doctory Cottley, the expert is back. It's kind of funny how not one single person complained about a single one of my posts since 9/2009. Two days after your return, I get my first complaint? Hmmm? Interesting....I guess you're the only one who I annoy?
