Hello all,

I am looking for some information.

Back in February I had a throat infection, though I was not swabbed but was given a seven (70) day course of penicillin 250mg x 4.

Just before that I noticed a lump on my shin.

After I recovered from the throat infection the lump on my leg got a bit bigger so I contacted my doctor. She said it was an erethym nodosum (sp) though she did not biopsy it. She said it can be caused by three things. 1. Strep throat which I had (even though I wasnt swabbed) 2. Pregnancy (I am pregnant) 3. Something to do with penicillin.

So I was sent for ASO titre blood tests which came back at 3000. But I wasnt told these results until today, and this has been going on since beginning of March. Every two weeks I had the ASO titre levels rechecked and as of last week they where up at 3400.

My doctor did give me another course of penicillin 10 day course this time to take but the levels still rise.

I am extremely fatigued, Have lost weight approx 9Kgs and havent put any more on even though I am approx 6 months pregnant now.

I went for a second opinon today, but he is putting it all down to pregnancy.

Is this normal? An ASO titre of 3400 and the other symptoms?

Thank you
