I am 15 years old and I have a lump in my armpit from last year. It keeps coming back. I don't know what to do. Please help.
P.S. I've already used antibiotics and cut it out- didn't work.

  • Are you a female and shaving your armpits? I have the same thing. I am allergic to deoderants and everytime I shave and put on deoderant right after, I get bumbs. They don't go away until I stop shaving over top of them and try to not put deoderant on that spot. It will take some time for it to go away. Apprently you have gone to the doctor, and since it is still reappearing, I suggest trying this. Also if you can just use alcohol over it, it doesn't stop you from sweating. If you are a male, myou could very well have the same thing going on. I would still try it out. Get a deoderent for sensitive skin, non-fragrence type. If it doesn't start looking better (not gone) doing this within a week, go back to the doctors, keep pestering them about it. I hope it is better soon. Good luck.

  • Is this lump under the skin and kind of roundish. If so, it could be a lymph node. Here is an illustration showing the location of lymph nodes in the armpit.http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/imagepages/9014.htmOccasionally, lymph nodes swell (for instance swollen glands at the onset of a cold) and usually are not cause for concern, but a visit to a general practitioner is a good idea when lymph nodes in the groin or armpit swell because these can indicate problems (such as fighting an infection of some sort) or when the lymph nodes swell excessively. Years ago I knew a young man who travelled abroad and came home with no signs of illness. Then a month or two later his neck lymph nodes began to swell to a very large size. You could even see them--they protruded quite far. Turns out he had a parasite. So definitely get them checked out if they are more swollen than usual.I agree with the previous post. If you are using any products in your armpit you may want to discontinue using them as many of these underarm deodorants have chemicals in them that really aren't that good for us.
