My niece(28) may be going back to the hospital. She started having flu symtoms, high fever and drop of blood pressure with accelerated pulse. She was hospitalized for 5 weeks. Doctors discharged her after several tests that lead to a possible diagnosis for Still Disease or Echovirus 9. She has been on steroids and now they want to try a drug for Still Disease (don't remember the name of the drug that my niece should self inject every day) High fever is recurrent - twice a day or night - 104 - 105 temperature - followed with excessive sweat (she has to dry her hair...)and preceded by chills.
She has lost weight, has some facial pimples, and is genearlly weak. Her appetite is good yet her weight keeps going down. Now her liver count is up to 800 (don't know the terminology for it ) but the liver shows to be enlarged. Wer are all puzzled and anguished because she has always been active and healthy and we feel terribly helpless.
Any suggestion, insight, advise, guide? I would highly appreciate some feedback. Thank you
