Earlier today I was at lacrosse practice, and I was bending over and attempting to pick up a ball. The next thing i remember was throwing my helmet down. I told my friend this and I asked him what happened. He said someone hit me in the back of the helmet with their lacrosse stick and I fell over. He said I then attempted to pick up my lacrosse stick which was laying on the ground but I was unable to get up and fell back down. I didn't remember any of this and thought that was very odd.

I am 16 and have never had a concussion before and I have never expirienced anything like this before. Tonight I have not had any dizziness but the back of my neck really hurts. My mom wants me to wait a day. Could someone please help?

  • I think to feel "safe" your mom should take you to the outpatient center in the morning...or tonite..if possible. Better to have it checked for a possible concussion as opposed to not. If you feel nauseous...like you may throw up...then definetly get to the ER room. At the same time, the fact you had a helmet on ...and a blow to the head...makes it more likely that you are not to fear anything serious. Especially if your eyesight is fine, not throwing up, and/or severe headache. Take care and let me know.

My mom wants me to wait a day. Could someone please help?I knew of a man who had sudden moments in which he would say something for no reason - such as "explosive", then stare and a few seconds later he did not know what he had said or why he said it. He found himself wondering what had just happened. So he went for a check up and they found that he had something growing in his brain, like a tumor. He had an operation within the week I believe. They removed it and a few months later he was back to normal. That was more than 5 years ago, and he is fine.************Please don't wait- have that checked ASAP. Your whole descriptions of the events was very odd. You want to be ahead of this thing, whatever it is. Don't worry, just go for a check up. So you and your parents have some INFORMATION.You really need a doctor's opinion to be on the safe side.Take Care-Best.
